Built from a Spitfire Mk Vb airframe captured in November 1942, this curious aircraft was used by Daimler Benz to demonstrate the superior qualities of German engines. The Spitfire, airframe EN830 with CJ+ZY markings, was powered by a DB605 engine covered with a modified ME110 engine bonnet. The test program of this aircraft was to set the record straight concerning the so-called superiority of British motor technology. The plane flew several times but was later destroyed in an american bombing raid.

This conversion set has been designed for the 1/48th scale Tamiya Spitfire V kit and includes 12 resin parts. Some cutting and assembly is required, but comprehensive, well illustrated instructions and painting guide are included to leave no guess work to the modeller. A lot of effort was put into the development of this kit to make it as easy to build and accurate as possible.
